Dr. Jetske Ultee: “There’s a great story behind this product. A few years ago, I started the national ‘Smeer je in!’ campaign. I wanted to make parents and children aware of the importance of good sun protection. Not just on the beach or on holiday, but also on the school playground, the sports field, and in the park. Because the same sun shines there too! Especially for the campaign, I developed Suncover, a non-profit product with only mild ingredients and the safest filters I could find. I created this generous family-sized bottle of 250 ml. Additionally, there is also a larger one-liter bottle with a pump. Very convenient for schools or daycare centers, so that all children can be protected during break time. Suncover is, of course, perfume-free, contains the antioxidant niacinamide for extra protection, is water resistant, and is available in SPF 30 as well. You can use the product for your body and your face."

I bought spf for my face. Unfortunately, that feels heavy and greasy. On advice, I used that for my body.

Frequently asked questions
Can the pump of the 1000 ml bottle be ‘locked’?

In the event you want to take the bottle with you, you can ‘lock’ it so that during transport no cream is accidentally pressed out of the bottle. You turn the pump a quarter turn clockwise (to the right) and the pump is ‘locked’.

Can I also use the sun cream for my face?

You can use Suncover for your body and your face. In addition, Dr. Jetske Ultee has developed a sunscreen product especially for the face, containing higher concentrations of active substances such as antioxidants (Suncare SPF 15 and Suncare SPF 30).

What is the difference between Suncover SPF 30 and SPF 50?

Regarding the sun protection factor, it is important to know that no sunscreen provides 100% protection against the sun. And perhaps that's not such a bad thing. Your skin also needs some sunlight to produce vitamin D. So, how much UV radiation do sunscreens block exactly? The difference between factor 30 and factor 50: factor 30 blocks approximately 96.7 percent of UV radiation; factor 50+ (factor 60) blocks 98.3 percent. This might seem like a small difference. But you can also look at it from the other side: SPF 30 lets through 3.3 percent of UV radiation, while SPF 50+ lets through only half of that, which is 1.7 percent.

Which factor should I choose?

Suncover is available in SPF 30 and SPF 50. Choose SPF 50 if you're going on a sun vacation, if you'll be outdoors all day without any shade, if you have very fair skin and burn easily, if you have (rapidly developing) pigmentation spots, or if you know you usually don't apply sunscreen thickly enough.

Choose SPF 30 if you’re not outdoors all day, in the spring when the sun's intensity isn't as high, or if you're a diligent sunscreen user who always applies it regularly and thickly enough.

Of course, every situation can be different. Are you unsure? Then please get in touch. We'd be happy to assist you in choosing the right factor.

How can you best store Suncover?

All sun protection products slowly lose their effectiveness due to light and high temperatures, causing the protection factor to decrease. Try to place your bottle in the shade as much as possible when you are enjoying the outdoors. In addition, we recommend not exposing the product to temperatures exceeding forty degrees Celsius.

At home, it's best to store Suncover at room temperature.

If your product has acquired an unusual color (due to heat or sunlight), smells strange, has a different texture, or the cream no longer blends well, it's better not to use it anymore. Feel free to email us if you have any questions.
