Dr. Jetske Ultee: “My Clay Powder is inspired by old Japanese and Ayurvedic beauty rituals. I have combined ingredients from these natural beauty rituals with more modern, science-based ingredients. The Clay Powder is packed with active ingredients that typically do not remain stable for long in skincare products. But because you now mix the ingredients yourself with a little water and apply them to your face, they are super fresh and effective. Therefore, let my Clay Powder sit for at least 3 minutes before rinsing it off. It really is a favorite of mine, and I hope it becomes one of yours too!”

What an incredibly fine mask. Wonderfully easy to apply and after only 3 minutes, your skin is super soft and beautiful. Indeed like coming straight from your beautician. Top product.

The clay powder does what it promises; fades wrinkles and lines. Beware of adding 'a bit' of water, though, as it will soon be too much.

Ingredients

Ingredients

Kaya Clay
Kaya Clay is a very powerful complex of ingredients from India. The clay consists of Indian Healing Clay, Lilac, Pennywort, Winter Cherry, Mung Bean, and Licorice Extract. All these ingredients can do so much for your skin: improve your skin texture and help keep your skin hydrated and supple. The clay can also protect your skin against pimples. Moreover, the clay works as an anti-aging agent by making fine lines and pigmentation spots less visible.
Hibiscus
This extract from the hibiscus flower has an exfoliating effect because it is a natural source of alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs). This helps make your skin fresher and more radiant. Hibiscus is also excellent at improving the flexibility, elasticity, and hydration of the skin.
Niacinamide
This wonderful substance, also known as vitamin B3, soothes and helps with excess sebum. Moreover, Niacinamide is an antioxidant that helps lighten pigmentation spots.
Ethyl Ferulate
The powerful Ethyl Ferulate is extracted from rice bran oil. This ingredient makes the clay powder extra restorative and soothing. Ethyl Ferulate acts as an antioxidant and can thus help the skin protect and repair itself in case of external damage, such as air pollution.
EGCG
EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate) is a super potent green tea extract with strong antioxidant properties. Additionally, this ingredient can effectively soothe the skin. In a cream, it is not easy to keep this ingredient stable. However, in the Clay Powder, you dissolve it fresh and activate it. This way, the extract is optimally effective.
Prebiotics
Inulin and fructose are well-known prebiotics that maintain the balance of your skin flora. Very important for beautiful skin.

Kaolin

Illite

This (French) red clay is known for its purifying properties. The clay can restore radiance to dull skin. Illite is 100% natural and of course completely biodegradable.

Hibiscus Sabdariffa Flower Powder

This extract from the hibiscus flower has an exfoliating effect, as it is a natural source of alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs).

Inulin

Inulin can be found in, among others, chicory root and blue agave, and is a well-known prebiotic that maintains the balance of the skin flora. And that's not all: this ingredient can also effectively hydrate the skin.

Camellia Oleifera Seed Extract

Camellia Oleifera Seed extract is the residue of tea seeds after the extraction of camellia oil. This residue consists of over 60% saponins. Saponins are very effective in cleansing the skin. Research (Hu et al., 2012) on these specific saponins from camellia oil also shows that they maintain the balance of the skin flora, which helps counteract skin issues such as redness and pimples.

Solum Fullonum

Part of the Kaya Clay complex, Solum Fullonum is known in India as healing clay. The clay has been used for many years for sensitive and easily irritated skin.

Ethyl Ferulate

The powerful Ethyl Ferulate is extracted from rice bran oil. This ingredient enhances the clay powder with extra restorative and soothing properties. Ethyl Ferulate acts as an antioxidant, helping the skin to protect and repair itself in case of external damage, such as air pollution.

Epigallocatechin Gallate

EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate) is a super potent green tea extract with strong antioxidant properties. Additionally, this ingredient can effectively soothe the skin. In a cream, it is not easy to keep this ingredient stable. However, in the Clay Powder, you dissolve it fresh and activate it. This way, the extract is optimally effective.

Fructose

This ingredient is extracted from sunchoke (Helianthus tuberosus) and chicory root (Cichorium intybus). Fructose is a prebiotic that, together with the inulin in the Clay Powder, helps maintain the balance of the skin flora.

Centella Asiatica Extract

Part of the Kaya Clay complex, Centella is also known as Pennywort. This extract can effectively hydrate the skin and also protects against dehydration. Additionally, Centella calms your skin in case of redness. And that's not all; Centella exhibits wonderful antioxidant and anti-aging properties and improves the texture of your skin.

Vigna Radiata Seed Extract

Part of the Kaya Clay complex, Vigna Radiata Seed Extract is an extract of the mung bean. This extract can make your skin soft, hydrated, nourished, and younger-looking. Additionally, Vigna Radiata Seed Extract can help reduce fine lines and pigmentation spots.

Azadirachta Indica Leaf Extract

Part of the Kaya Clay complex, Azadirachta Indica Leaf Extract, also known as Lilac, has potent antioxidant properties. This extract helps maintain the balance of the skin flora and can thus help prevent pimples. Lilac can also aid in fading spots after pimples.

Glycyrrhiza Glabra Root Extract

Part of the Kaya Clay complex. You may know Glycyrrhiza Glabra Root Extract as licorice root extract. This is one of my favorite ingredients. And not without reason. This extract can soothe the skin very effectively. Great if you suffer from redness. Additionally, licorice root extract acts as an antioxidant and can beautifully reduce the visibility of pigmentation spots.

Withania Somnifera Root Extract

Part of the Kaya Clay complex, Withania Somnifera Root Extract is also known as Winter Cherry. This anti-aging extract has antioxidant properties and can thus help combat wrinkles and pigmentation spots. Additionally, Winter Cherry can help the skin remain supple and hydrated.
How to use

  2. Mix 2 scoops of Clay Powder in your palm with a little water. You can also use a bowl. Then, apply the Clay Powder to your face and neck with your fingers or a brush.
  3. Let the powder sit for 3 minutes (or longer if your skin is more oily) before rinsing it off with water.
  4. Then apply the Toner, Exfoliant, and Moisturizer. If you like, finish with my Face Oil. The Clay Powder and Face Oil combine wonderfully together.

Do you have very oily skin? You can also let the mask sit until the clay completely dries out.
