Only three weeks ago I was beginning to think that Spring would never arrive, but fortunately I was wrong! The sky is blue, I can hear the birds singing once again, the leaves are on the trees and flowers everywhere.
‘You’ll grow out of them!’, ‘it could be worse?’, ‘it’s a fact of life, you should be happy that you are a teenager!’: these are just a few reactions you may be met with if you’ve finally plucked up the courage to go to the Doctor about those dreadful spots.
It always happens; your skin is smooth and radiant for weeks and then you wake up on that all important day with a pimple on your nose. And if it isn’t a pimple, then the bags under your eyes (not had enough sleep), red patches, dry flaky skin, or the peeling skin on your lips can considerably spoil your fun.
Here I am again! A bit later than normal, but this time I’ve got a good excuse. You see, I had to go to Miami for the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology. This meeting is held once a year and you really need to attend it if you want to know the latest news in the field of (Cosmetic) Dermatology.
Those dry cracked lips are just dreadful! And if you try applying a lipstick it looks very theatrical… This doesn’t usually affect you in the summer, but in winter you can’t escape it. Now that we are all once again flocking to faraway snowy destinations, here are some quick tips to keep your lips in top condition…
I could not resist mentioning this news on my blog, because I’m still dumbstruck! Those who receive my news brief may have read it already… Because the time had arrived on Tuesday evening: the Beauty Astir Awards ceremony, the beauty Oscars of our land! We already knew last week that the moisturiser from Uncover had been nominated in the category ‘Best Niche’ alongside 13 other products. What a surprise when, yesterday, our Dr. Jetske Ultee product received the First Prize!
There is very much to read about skincare on my blog, but I haven’t often talked about body care. Even so, I still receive many questions about the body each day. High time for a blog about it. Because what do you need to watch out for when looking for suitable body products?
The year of the BB cream
In the land of cosmetics, 2012 was the year of the BB cream, and I expect that we will see more of the BB cream in 2013. But what actually is a BB cream? And does it work? It is about time we delved a little more into it…
The safety of make-up products is a hot item. Not so surprising if you read all the stories on the internet about lead, arsenic and other damaging and dangerous substances in your eye shadow, eyeliner or lipstick. And yet the average woman still swallows a great deal of lipstick. According to the National Health and Medical Research Council of Canberra, a woman “eats” between 500 and 1500 grams of lipstick in her lifetime. It is a bit of a shame if you make a conscious effort with your skincare and subsequently “ruin” the effect through use of the wrong make-up products. Reason enough to take a closer look at your cosmetics.
