Dr. Jetske Ultee has now added two excellent Concealers to her make-up range. They are super smooth and (again also) very suitable for sensitive or unsettled skin. How do you use this product? And how does it differ from the Foundation?
It is already a few years ago that I met Marianne van der Gaag and Freek Koster of Touché Models. We started talking about our work as well as other things and we just clicked. It happens sometimes with people! Although, at the time, we didn’t have any concrete ideas, we did agree that, at some point, we would like to do something together. We kept in contact and now, at long last, it has happened. Yesterday was the launch of Freek and Mariannes Modelhouse, and I am thrilled, in my expert capacity, to be able to make a blog or vlog there each week.
As I feel an explanation is required, this time it’s a peep behind the scenes at Uncover! And following that more specifically about the arduous delivery of the foundation.
A couple of weeks ago a journalist from Flair asked me what my biggest beauty blunder had been. Well, with the blunders I have made I can fill a couple of blogs, but I will just stick with the one which is still clearly visible in my mind; my “lash extensions”.
Two weeks ago I had a photo shoot with Flair magazine. They gave me a pair of shoes to wear, which were to die for! I could choose from a range of amazing dresses and trousers and, last but not least, I was given a make-over by a top make-up artist. What more could a woman want! The next day I looked rather less glamorous, waking with eyes which looked as though I’d spent the whole night crying. A typical case of mascara allergy! How do all those celebrities cope with being made up day in day out with not always such clean make-up products…
Gone are the days of thin pencilled lines over our eyes; hair is again allowed to grow (although, in my opinion, with some exceptions..)! We also want our eyelashes to be as full as possible…
You most definitely want to look ab-fab at Christmas time (or better still all of the time)! Nails get a coat of paint, hair is coloured and trimmed, jewellery polished and once again after a whole year those Christmas dresses come out of the wardrobe (to see if they still fit?).
The year of the BB cream
In the land of cosmetics, 2012 was the year of the BB cream, and I expect that we will see more of the BB cream in 2013. But what actually is a BB cream? And does it work? It is about time we delved a little more into it…
The safety of make-up products is a hot item. Not so surprising if you read all the stories on the internet about lead, arsenic and other damaging and dangerous substances in your eye shadow, eyeliner or lipstick. And yet the average woman still swallows a great deal of lipstick. According to the National Health and Medical Research Council of Canberra, a woman “eats” between 500 and 1500 grams of lipstick in her lifetime. It is a bit of a shame if you make a conscious effort with your skincare and subsequently “ruin” the effect through use of the wrong make-up products. Reason enough to take a closer look at your cosmetics.
