An Expert for the Model House!

It is already a few years ago that I met Marianne van der Gaag and Freek Koster of Touché Models. We started talking about our work as well as other things and we just clicked. It happens sometimes with people! Although, at the time, we didn’t have any concrete ideas, we did agree that, at some point, we would like to do something together. We kept in contact and now, at long last, it has happened. Yesterday was the launch of Freek and Mariannes Modelhouse, and I am thrilled, in my expert capacity, to be able to make a blog or vlog there each week.

Skincare for Eczema Sufferers

I often think back to my time in the Dermatology unit at the Sophia Children’s Hospital in Rotterdam. It was heart breaking to see the children covered from top to toe in ointment and bandages. They were in a lot of discomfort from the itching and had to wear special gloves to stop them from scratching their skin and damaging it even further. How awful! Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera

After an around the world trip with husband and kids (lucky me), I find myself sitting behind the computer once again. I couldn’t forget my work altogether on holiday though. Whether it was somewhere in the Jungle of Indonesia, the Australian Outback or a forgotten island in the South Pacific; there was nothing nicer than to quiz the locals about which ointments and plants they used to look after their skin. Just like Willy Wonka in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, I came home with piles of information but unfortunately, unlike Willy Wonka, I still haven’t found that “miracle remedy”! My children felt that they had. As after one of the locals had shown our children how to use the sap from the leaf of an Aloe Vera on a wound, no plant in the area was safe! If the Aloe Vera suddenly becomes an endangered plant I know nothing about it okay…

Only three weeks ago I was beginning to think that Spring would never arrive, but fortunately I was wrong! The sky is blue, I can hear the birds singing once again, the leaves are on the trees and flowers everywhere.

Spots Which Aren’t Acne: Pityrosporum Folliculitis!

‘You’ll grow out of them!’, ‘it could be worse?’, ‘it’s a fact of life, you should be happy that you are a teenager!’: these are just a few reactions you may be met with if you’ve finally plucked up the courage to go to the Doctor about those dreadful spots.

First Aid for Skin Problems

It always happens; your skin is smooth and radiant for weeks and then you wake up on that all important day with a pimple on your nose. And if it isn’t a pimple, then the bags under your eyes (not had enough sleep), red patches, dry flaky skin, or the peeling skin on your lips can considerably spoil your fun.
