Sun Creams Are Going To Cost Less

As long ago as 2013 when I began my sun campaign Smeer je in! I wrote an open letter to the Ministry of Finance to enquire about the possibility of a reduction in the VAT tariff on sun creams. I was pleasantly surprised then when I saw in the news yesterday that this is at last a fact.

Sun creams as medicine
Sun creams prevent the skin from burning. It has therefore been decided that they may be grouped under medicine. And this carries a VAT tariff of 6% instead of 21%. A condition of this is that the product must contain sun filters to protect against UVB as well as UVA rays. I can only applaud this.

It means in any case that sun creams can cost less money. I have in the meantime reduced the price of my own brand Suncare. Even Suncover, the non-profit product developed for the campaign Smeer je in! can become a little cheaper.

Kind regards,
