I frequently get asked the question on my weblog why parabens are missing from the list of substances to be avoided. I would like to explain this now. The answer, however, is not so simple.

The only thing that differentiates an eye cream from other creams is that it comes in a small pot and is mild enough to use on the skin around your eyes. This skin is thinner and therefore more sensitive than other skin. I once spoke to someone who was searching for a mild face cream. She eventually bought an eye cream. If this was mild enough for the eyes then it was definitely not going to irritate the rest of her face. She was right.
