Ingredients to Avoid

Many products contain substances that can have an irritating effect – and many people suffer from these. Below you’ll find a list of ingredients which are proven to have an irritating effect. These are all ingredients to avoid.

Perfume – All types of alcohol (unless displayed at the bottom of the ingredient list/ except when added to cetyl, stearyl, cetearyl and lanolin) – Balsam of Peru – Bergamot – Cinnamic acid – Mint substances – Eucalyptus – Camphor – Citrus substances – Lavender – Geranium – Methylisothiazolinone – Tea tree oil – Witch hazel – Ylang ylang – Oxybenzone – PABA – Propylene glycol – Sodium lauryl sulphate – Methyl nicotinate – Synthetic dyes – Acetone

By looking at the ingredients list on a product you can check for yourself which products contain substances that can cause irritation. These are the ingredients to avoid. Skin scans are a good way of clearly showing if the skin is damaged where it may otherwise be invisible. In this case your skin is rather more susceptible to irritation, redness or imperfections.

It is therefore always important to avoid substances that can have an irritating effect.
