Your Children in Direct Sunshine?
During the holidays I went to a newly opened park for children in Laren. As you can see from the photograph, it is a super park.
In the direct sunshine!
But there was one thing which did amaze me: there is hardly any shade in this park! Children are therefore playing the whole time in direct sunshine. I wrote earlier about how challenging it was getting my youngest son to play under the parasol. It is impossible to keep children out of the sun entirely, but I find it very important that shade available at a place where lots of children are playing!
Especially if you consider that when a child gets badly burnt just once, the risk of getting melanoma (the worst form of skin cancer) is increased by 50%.
