Dr. Jetske Ultee: For years I’ve been involved with research into cosmetics. I am convinced about the importance of good skincare, but at the same time shocked by the amount of nonsense being marketed in the cosmetics world. That is what I would like to inform people about. Via this blog I\u00a0share with you my findings and knowledge.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Research Physician<\/h2>\n

After studying medicine and my promotional research in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Erasmus MC in Rotterdam, I was employed as a Research Physician in cosmetic dermatology at the Velthuis Clinic. Here I experienced how rewarding it is being able to help people with their skin problems and questions. A lot can usually be done with the right care. Because did you know that many skin complaints are ultimately the results of incorrect, or the incorrect use of cosmetic products? That is not so strange, because much is promised and claimed in the world of cosmetics. And what should you, as a consumer, believe and not believe?<\/p>\n

Scientific Search<\/h2>\n

So began my scientific search in the world of skincare for better treatments, advice and products. I have literally buried myself in piles of papers, visited numerous international congresses, spoken with countless established dermatologists and sifted through many books. My principal questions concerning this were: what is actually proven, which ingredients really benefit the skin and in which concentrations? I think people have the right to know what is true and what is not, and this is where I aim to help.<\/p>\n

The truth about cosmetics<\/h2>\n

In this search into the \u2018truth about cosmetics\u2019 I regularly reel from one surprise to the next. Actually, I already knew that many claims are remarkably misleading. Or that expensive creams are not by definition better than cheaper alternatives. But it is still shocking to find that those costly \u2018active\u2019 substances are added in such negligible concentrations that a product simply cannot do anything.<\/p>\n

Skin problems<\/h2>\n

Even though we can now treat \u2018problem skin\u2019 with laser, light and peeling, it is a pity that a common underlying problem exists for a large number of people, i.e. incorrect grooming habits and products. Suitable products combined with good advice already provide much improvement for people with acne, rosacea, dry or oily skin.<\/p>\n

Trusting in skincare<\/h2>\n

Despite all of the revelations during my research I have definitely not lost my confidence in the point of cosmetics. In fact, I am impressed by the possibilities and much promised results of certain cosmetic ingredients. Good skincare products can really improve the skin.\u00a0There is still no miracle cream for deep wrinkles. But there are enough ways in which to counteract them. There is definitely something that can be done about fine lines, impurities, spots or a dull, dry skin. To put it simply, I have no doubt that a good skincare regime is important. And I would like to share my knowledge about this here.<\/p>\n

My own product range!<\/h2>\n

\nAfter many requests, I have finally used all of that knowledge gained in the last few years regarding the sense and nonsense about cosmetics to develop my own products. Skincare with nothing but mild and active ingredients in high concentrations which really do something for the skin, and can improve and prevent problems. It took a long time to compose the products in exactly the way I wanted, without irritating ingredients. But I am so pleased with the result: my own product range Dr. Jetske Ultee. In the meantime gorgeous make-up has been created for that perfect finishing touch. These products also contain nothing but gentle, worthwhile ingredients.<\/p>\n
