Here I am again! A bit later than normal, but this time I\u2019ve got a good excuse. You see, I had to go to Miami for the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology<\/a>. This meeting is held once a year and you really need to attend it if you want to know the latest news in the field of (Cosmetic) Dermatology. Everything from new ingredients, anti-wrinkle technology to illness treatments are discussed.<\/p>\n

Miami<\/strong>
\nThere are hundreds of talks given by Dermatologists and Scientists from all corners of the World and there is also an Exhibition for businesses selling lasers, cosmetics, skin analysis apparatus, medical books etc. Very amusing as now and again you come across really strange things. A Doctor who made me laugh had adapted a Doctors coat by making pockets large enough for ipads. And they were available in pink, silver and gold. I\u2019m afraid I don\u2019t think that Holland is quite ready for that yet… I was sad to see that a lot of cosmetic businesses were still trying to sell products with false claims. As if the Dermatologists who were walking around there would fall for it!<\/p>\n

A visit to Radar<\/strong>
\nFortunately I can see that the consumer is becoming more critical and that is good! For smart skincare ensures attractive and healthy skin, but bad products can be really harmful. So it is high time for more awareness about applying; it is not only essential for our skin, but also for the environment, our health and, not unimportantly, our purse.\u00a0Last week Radar focused on the wonderful world of cosmetics. Special technology, ingredients with alluring names and unique make-up which makes wrinkles disappear, just as snow melts in the sun. But do those anti-wrinkle creams now deliver what they promise? Radar carried out a survey on 56713 people and, out of those, only 33% used an anti-wrinkle cream. If you are one of the 33%, you should watch this episode!
