\nFor that extra smooth surface, it is quite tempting to exfoliate<\/a> more often. Such a bad idea; over-exfoliating can, in fact, make your skin look older, more dull and dry. By damaging the natural skin barrier, moisture is lost which, in turn, affects the functioning of all sorts of important processes in your skin. And you will notice this! And for those who are reading my bog for the first time: never use a granular scrub on your face, exfoliate instead with substances such as Glycolic Acid<\/a> and Salicylic Acid<\/a>. If you use these exfoliating ingredients in the correct way then your skin will only look more radiant.<\/p>\n
\nDue to the low humidity in the winter<\/a>, your skin may feel differently than in the summer. Hormonal fluctuations can also cause noticeable changes. If you don\u2019t adapt your skincare routine to your skins condition then you will get into difficulties. So take a good look in the mirror and apply more or less, change your exfoliant if necessary and if very dry<\/a> add some oil<\/a> to your skincare regime.<\/p>\n
\nYou don\u2019t want to know how many people have skin problems because they use a Cleanser<\/a> which is unsuitable for their skin. The use of a cleanser is perhaps the most important step in your skincare routine. There are many aggressive cleansers which, whist making your skin \u2018clean\u2019, also cause a lot of damage. The consequence is a dry, dull and irritated skin, with spots as well.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cGoing all green\u201d, because if it\u2019s natural<\/a> it can\u2019t be anything other than good. Sadly, the opposite is true. There are natural ingredients which are most certainly beneficial for your skin, but there are probably more which just cause irritation. It\u2019s not for nothing that most dermatologists won\u2019t advise natural products to people who suffer from very sensitive skin<\/a>.<\/p>\n
\nA study revealed that as much as 20% of women leave their mascara on for 3 days! No… If you don\u2019t clean your skin you increase the chances of skin problems such as spots. So, just make sure you remove your make-up each evening!<\/p>\n
\nA day cream, night cream, eye cream, serum, anti-wrinkle cream, primer, natural facelift, enlightening cream, firming cream\u2026. There is a cream for just about everything. But basically, all these creams aren\u2019t necessary and your skin doesn\u2019t appreciate this overdose of products. If you have a mild Moisturizer<\/a> with the right ingredients then you can also apply this around your eyes both in the morning and at night time. It won\u2019t only save you money but also space in your bathroom :-)!<\/p>\n
\nYou may be using the right products, but if you apply them in the wrong order then it is pointless. The rule is: thinner products go first. A richer cream with a thinner moisturiser with antioxidants applied over the top is a complete waste of money!<\/p>\n
\nI cannot repeat this enough, 90% of skin ageing is due to the sun<\/a>! So always protect your skin as much as you can with a sun cream and a cream with antioxidants. And never (I mean this) never use a tanning bed.<\/p>\n
\nYou will need to wait a couple of months before seeing proper results of a new skincare regime. It may be that your skin seems unsettled to start with. It\u2019s nothing to worry about; sometimes your skin needs to get used to ingredients such as Glycolic Acid, Vitamin A Acid<\/a> and a higher dose of Vitamin C<\/a>. I advise introducing products one at a time so that your skin doesn\u2019t feel overwhelmed.<\/p>\n
