My Little Boy in the Sun

Recently I was outside in the garden with my youngest boy Bo. After almost an hour of trying to set up two parasols (you can never be too careful), hunt for a cap, a tough battle getting the SPF 30 on and finally sliding him into his baby walker, I could at last relax on the patio with my book and cappuccino. After reading only the first page Bo and baby walker had disappeared to the only sunny place on the patio where he’d tossed his cap into the rose bushes.

What a relief that there were no photographers hiding in the bushes…I’m always preaching with full conviction that we need to protect our skin and that of our children’s daily against the dangers of the sun, but meanwhile I let my one year old boy play in the full sun with no hat on. What all the scientists advise is easier said than done! I wonder if they also have young children wandering around at home?

To his (and my) great pleasure I let him go for a little while. Next time another attempt and I will crack it……

Regards and have a good weekend,

Jetske.
