The price of beauty products varies enormously. An expensive moisturiser does not guarantee its effectiveness. In fact you should certainly be suspicious if you have to pay more than 60 euro’s for a product. There is no combination of active ingredient which can make your product so costly. Not even if the product contains high concentrations of active ingredients (and sadly this is seldom the case…).
The majority of people need to use a Moisturiser. In the step by step plan this step comes before sun cream. Some Moisturizers contain a Sun Protection Factor (SPF), but in general I think it is wise to use a separate product. I will explain this later in my blog.
A separate night cream is not necessary. A good day cream is also just as good for night time. There is no difference in the creams in terms of the formula. The only difference between a day and night cream is that a sun protection factor is incorporated into the day cream, which is something that is not required for the night cream.
I was really impressed to read that more leading dermatologists (Goldberg, Kligman etc.) point out that skin products with perfumes and other irritating ingredients not only disturb the barrier function of the skin, but also accelerate ageing of the skin.
